The Monster in the Hollows isn’t what you think, but it is Book Three in the Wingfeather Saga. And this isn’t just a book for the kids to think about, though think on it they should and will. There’s much to ponder in The Wingfeather Saga, much about the way the Maker moves, about the way it’s always too early to quit, about the way the Maker takes a failure and makes a flourish, about how singing for love rather than power will make a bent song beautiful, and on and on. Our hearts were thrilled with the song of the stones, the terrors of the deeps of throg, a family fighting through affliction, heroes and villains, friends and foes, laughter and tears. To our great delight it finally arrived, and there in the early cool of the day we read its final pages. We had been waiting for this story for months. We love being out in the morning before the sun has climbed high and grown hot. It was a lovely May morning under the arbor on our bricked back porch. Well at least one of these two things happened. It also gave the master of horror the opportunity to see if he could become a success a second time around. You are asking yourself, “Who is Richard Bachman?” Well, you actually know him by his real name as he is one of the most famous writers of the last few decades! Back when he was at the height of his powers and the undisputed ruler of the horror genre, Stephen King created the Bachman pen name in an attempt to publish more books than what he was allowed at the time. In my ongoing efforts to read some of the older books on my shelves, I decided to pick up Thinner by Richard Bachman. First off, the movie itself is about a comic book similar to Tails and the four stories in the movie come directly from the Creepshow comic books. Regardless, it's about time for two horror geniuses to team up and do something good for a change. There are many great things about this movie that I enjoyed but there was, however, one huge things that I did not like about this movie. These stores, for that time, were pretty scary and freaked me out when they came in theaters. In this movie there are four scary stories being told some written by Stephen King from his short stories and some written by Romero and SK. This was after Tales from the Crypt, however, Romero and King both where heavily influenced by these comics that they developed a movie that was sort of a satire/parody of Tales but in the same time a tribute to that comic book.
